ONA MOVE! MOVE members have been unjustly imprisoned for almost twenty torturous years now, despite their obvious innocence. During these past twenty years, prison officials have tried a lot of sadistic tactics to try to break MOVE, break our commitment to JOHN AFRICA, and break up the MOVE Organization. These tactics NEVER worked and NEVER WILL - LONG LIVE JOHN AFRICA
Right now, Graterford Prison officials are trying another sadistic tactic on our brothers Chuck and Mike Africa. We ain't lettin 'em do it quietly, we're exposing 'em as JOHN AFRICA coordinated us to do.
We need you to phone, fax, or e-mail Commissioner Horn and Superintendent Vaughn and DEMAND THAT CHUCK AND MIKE AFRICA BE RELEASED FROM THE HOLE AND NOT BE SUBJECT TO THE TB TESTS.
MOVE ALERT
Chuck and Mike Africa are two of the Move 9 political prisoners that were wrongly convicted of the murder of policeman James Ramp during a major confrontation between Move and this system on August 8, 1978.
Both of them, along with seven other of my Move sisters and brothers were each sentenced to 30 - 100 years in prison. They have all been in prison since August 8, 1978, almost 19 years now.
Chuck and Mike are imprisoned at SCI Graterford here in PA and are currently victims of escalated persecution by prison officials. They were both put in the "hole", isolation. They refuse to take the needle (skin) test for TB because it's against our religion. They would take alternative tests (such as: x-ray, sputum, urine test, etc.) but prison officials won't accept that because they want to keep Chuck and Mike in the hole. The point is that Chuck and Mike are healthy, they don't have TB and prison officials are just using this as an excuse to keep them in the "hole". What people should know is that there are plenty of inmates in general population that prison officials know have TB and they cannot be made to take medication because it's known to cause liver and/or kidney damage.
Given this situation, how can prison officials justify keeping Chuck and Mike or anybody in the "hole" for not taking the TB test when in fact even if an inmate tests positive for TB, they don't have to take medication and they are housed in general population, not in isolation, the "hole".
Move ain't gonna keep this blatant persecution quiet, we're exposin' it. We're urging people to call, write or fax the superintendent of SCI- Graterford and the Commissioner of the Dept. of Corrections.
