"The concern and caring exhibited by these children illustrates the best in American Society and its commitment to the elimination of indefensible criminal punishment. We salute their efforts and urge everyone else to do likewise."
Robert Dunham, Executive Director

Defense Assistance, July 3, 1997
"Children should know that grown-ups are doing some very bad things, and that children can change this. Theres a saying in the Bible, A little child shall lead them. I see CHILDREN in various parts of the world taking very brave steps such as in the civil rights movement when in Birmingham, Alabama, they went on marches and for this they were hosed and dogs set on them. I applaud what you are doing."
Pete Seeger

"Jesus of Nazareth admonishes us to be as children. The Bruderhof Children through their march against the death penalty recall to us Jesus commandments and impel us toward fulfilling it through love and reconciliation, not state sanctioned killing."
Rev. Dr. Joseph B. Ingle

"I hope that everyone who sees the children march for justice, against the death penalty, will take the message to heart so that they may live and love each other."

"To the Bruderhof Youth -
In a time when many youth are looking forward to parole instead of graduation, this historic march becomes even more urgent with its message of defiance by the Bruderhof youth. We look forward to marching with you onto the SCI Greene prison!!!"
