These names and others will now be added to the STOLEN LIVES PROJECT. These are just some of the more recent lives stolen by the national epidemic of police brutality and murder. This epidemic has a human face. These lives will not be forgotten. The Stolen Lives Project seeks to strengthen the growing resistance against police brutality.
Come and participate. This event is one of many around the country, nationally coordinated, adding these and other names to the already too large Stolen Lives list. The list, when published in June 1999, will list 2000+ cases and circumstances of lives stolen by law enforcement in this country.
NO MORE STOLEN LIVES!
also available in PDF for distribution
The mission of the STOLEN LIVES PROJECT is to assemble a nation-al list of names of people killed by law enforcement in the U.S. from 1990-1997. Hundreds are killed by the "official violence" of the police every year. These victims - whose lives have been vicious-ly cut short - all had lives, families and were part of our society. But rarely are their lives or names publicized, nor are the real cir-cumstances surrounding their deaths caused by police made known, nor is the extent of this epidemic of police violence known.
STOLEN LIVES is a project of the Anthony Baez Foundation, the National Lawyers Guild, and The October 22 Coalition to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation
