Veronica Jones gave testimony today in the case of Mumia Abu Jamal. After over two and a half hours of grueling cross examination by the DA she held strong to her original testimony that she had been intimidated by the Philadelphia Police to lie in the original trial. Veronica was repeatedly warned that perjury was punishable by 7 years and Judge Sabo warned her himself very forcibly. When she still wouldn't change her testimony Judge Sabo let two New Jersey State Troopers into the court room and marched up to the bullet proof glass that separates the court from the spectators and with these troopers in full view in front of her the DA asked if her memory was jogged in any way. She would not go back on her testimony. At that point the troopers were allowed to arrest her on an alleged back check charge. It is our understanding this was done with Sabo's full cooperation. Ms Jones attorney saw the warrant quickly and questioned the name and the lack of social security number. However, Sabo allowed the arrest stating that the Philadelphia police would assist the New Jersey State Troopers in their arrest.
Outside the courtroom Sheriff's deputies were threatening to arrest demonstrators in support of Mumia. Veronica Jones' attorney said that she would present herself tomorrow to answer the warrant, however, Sabo allowed her to be taken into custody today.

It is clear that Sabo and the FOP do not want the truth told in Mumia's case. The Supreme Court in denying the removal of Sabo is a co-conspirator in this terrible miscarriage of justice.
We also need you to fax, call the courts and the DA and express your outrage at this total trashing of justice in such a blatant way.
