This letter is submitted by the R2K Legal Defense Committee on behalf of the undersigned organizations, who were listed in the police affidavit.
On September 7th, 2000 it was publicly disclosed that the State and City police have been surveilling and infiltrating individuals and groups related to the R2K network. This surveillance and infiltration, which includes the use of undercover agents and electronic monitoring, is illegal and unconstitutional.
We demand specific verification as to past and current surveillance and infiltration, and demand that all infiltration, surveillance and harassment stop immediately.
We expect a written response within 48 hours of receipt of this certified letter verifying that all surveillance, harassment and infiltration has terminated. We will consider a failure to respond as an admission that surveillance and infiltration is currently occurring.
