Refuse & Resist! is saddened by the news that Dr. Curtis Stover has died at age 61.
Dr. Stover provided abortions to many women at his Little Rock, AK clinic, until he was forced to retire for health reasons. Over the years he tangled with authorities trying to shut him down, and with anti-abortionists harassing him and his patients. He was known for his generous support of many progressive causes, and for his slogan "Jesus, Protect Us from Your Followers".
His family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions in his name be sent to the ACLU at 902 West Second Street, Little Rock 72201; Planned Parenthood at 5512 West Markham, Little Rock, AR 72205; or CARE, Central Arkansas Rescue Efforts for Animals, P.O. Box 251156, Little Rock, Arkansas 72225.
